PDP Non-elective Convention in Abuja

AUGUST 12 — The PDP will hold a non-elective convention in Abuja.

The party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) took the decision on July 18.

The leadership of the party has been meeting since after Wednesday, July 12, when the Supreme Court handed the PDP to the Ahmed Makarfi faction and sacked the Ali Modu Sherrif faction.

The NEC also resolved to reinstate all states’ executive elected at the April 2016 congress who were later removed by Ali Modu Sheriff.

New members of the party executive will not emerge at the August 12 convention because it is non-elective.
