Nigeria Mourns Borno 48

Nigerians are mourning 48 people — geologists, workers of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the University of Maiduguri as well as members of the Civilian JTF — murdered by Boko Haram terrorists during an oil exploration in the Lake Chad Basin on July 25. Their bodies have been deposited in the morgue of the University of Maiduguri.

Apparently as a result, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has directed chief of army staff Buratai to relocate to Maiduguri.

Borno State governor Shettima and other Nigerians have commiserated with the families of the slain explorers.

The Nigerian government has several times announced that it had defeated Boko Haram, even as the evil sect has continued to unleash mayhem on soldiers and defenceless Nigerians.
